(৫) (বন্ধ বা বন্দিদশা থেকে মুক্তি, উন্মোচন; উম্মীলন, উদঘাটন, প্রকাশ ইত্যাদি নির্দেশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়): The secret is out, রহস্য/গোপন কথা ফাঁস হয়ে পড়েছে; The mango blossom is out, আমের মুকুল ধরেছে; The moon is out, মেঘে ঢাকা নয়; মেঘমুক্ত চাঁদ; His new book on evironment is out, প্রকাশিত হয়েছে; There’s a warrant out against him, তার নামে ওয়ারেন্ট/গ্রেফতারি পরোয়ানা বেরিয়েছে/জারি হয়েছে। (৬) (সমাপ্ত, নিঃশেষিত, নির্বাপিত ইত্যাদি অবস্থা বোঝাতে): The fire is out, আগুন নিভে গেছে; The lease is out, লিজের মেয়াদ শেষ হয়ে গেছে। (৭) (শেষ পর্যন্ত, শেষের দিকে, সম্পূর্ণ বোঝাতে) (নানা verb(s)-সহযোগে): hear somebody out, (কারো কথ্য) শেষ পর্যন্ত শোনা; supplies running out, সরবরাহ শেষের দিকে/শেষ হয়ে যাচ্ছে; fight it out, লড়াই করে বিরোধের মীমাংসা করা; I’m tired out, আমি একেবারে/সম্পূর্ণ ক্লান্ত; I’ll be there before the week is out, সপ্তাহ পূর্ণ/শেষ হওয়ার আগেই সেখানে যাবো। cry one’s eyes out কেঁদে হালকা হওয়া। have it out with somebody, দ্রষ্টব্য out and out সম্পূর্ণ, পুরোপুরি, পুরোদস্তুর: that man is a crook out and out. out and away বহু গুণে: She was out and away the prettiest girl in the room. (৮) (ভুল নির্দেশ করে): He was out in his reckoning, তার গোনায় ভুল হয়েছিল। I hope I’m not far out, আশা করি আমার বড় একটা ভুল হয়নি। (৯) (স্পষ্টতা বা উচ্চকণ্ঠ নির্দেশ করে): Call out, জোরে ডাকা; say something out loud, কোনোকিছু জোরে/উঁচু গলায় বলা; speak out, স্পষ্ট করে, ইতস্তত না করে বলা; bring out the historical significance of a novel. ঐতিহাসিক তাৎপর্য বুঝিয়ে বলা; tell somebody something straight out /right out. কোনোকিছু গোপন না-করে, অস্পষ্টতা না রেখে বলা। (১০) (phrase-সমূহে) be out for (কোনোকিছুর) সন্ধানে বের হওয়া বা রত হওয়া; (কোনোকিছু) পাবার জন্য আগ্রহী হওয়া: Wasn’t she out for compliments? He’s out for your blood, সে তোমার রক্তের জন্য নেমেছে, অর্থাৎ তোমাকে আক্রমণের জন্য কৃতসংকল্প। out to + infinitive চেষ্টা করেছে বা আশা করছে: The company is out to capture the local market. all out সর্বশক্তি নিয়োগ করা: I can tyype 30 words a minute when I am going all out. all-out: make an all-out effort. (১১) (ক্রিকেট) (ব্যাটস্‌ম্যান) আউট হয়ে যাওয়া: He was out for 50, সে ৫০ রান করে আউট হয়ে যায়। (১২) out of (preposition(al)) (ক) (স্থান) বাইরে: I was out of town last week, শহরের বাইরে ছিলাম; This custom is not found out of the eastern parts of Bangladesh. বাংলাদেশের পূর্বাঞ্চলের বাইরে এ প্রথা দেখা যায় না। (খ) (গতি) থেকে: He walked out of the room. She jumped out of bed. (গ) (অভিপ্রায় বা কারণ নির্দেশ করে): It was done out of spite. He helped me out of kindness. (ঘ) মধ্যে থেকে: one out of ten, দশজনের মধ্যে একজন, দশটির মধ্যে একটি। (ঙ) কোনোকিছু ব্যবহার করে, কোনোকিছুর দ্বারা; থেকে: The walls were made out of clay. Good seldom comes out of evil.(চ) ছাড়া; হীন; হারা: out of breath, দমহারা; out of work, কাজশূন্য; বেকার; out of patience. ধৈর্যহারা। (ছ) (অবস্থা নির্দেশ করে): out of fashion, অপ্রচলিত; out of control, নিয়ন্ত্রণহীন; out of order, অকেজো; out of danger, বিপদমুক্ত। (জ) (উৎস বা উৎপত্তি নির্দেশ করে): a character out of a novel; copy verses out of the Bible; eat out of the same dish. (ঝ) (ফল বা পরিণতি নির্দেশ করে); We tried to reason her out of her fears. The crook cheated me reason her out of her fears.
